About this talk

The presentation will outline the journey of yoga from Caves to Cancer hospitals/clinics and how yoga can be used in cancer care. Cancer can provoke severe psychologic distress that impacts overall quality of life for cancer patients.

While the goal or scope of yoga therapy is not to treat or cure cancer, yoga addresses the client as a whole person, eases symptom burden, and improves the quality of life, filling a gap in Cancer care. The new recommendations and guidelines from cancer organizations make yoga in cancer care is one of the more ready areas than others.
